The integration between HP Software and nGenius streamlines the troubleshooting process and accelerates problem resolution. Alarms from the nGenius Solution supply application intelligence and context to HP Software. Upon receiving an nGenius evidentiary alarm, the network operator can immediately see where in the network the event has occurred and a diagnosis of which applications were involved. To get further details, a URL within the alarm message links directly to real-time contextual graphs in nGenius Performance Manager showing link usage over time, contributing applications, users, and conversations. Data mining is graphical and intuitive, with the deepest sub-second granularity and packet decode available with just a mouse click to identify the most complex issues, such as the source of a microburst or the root cause of a complex application problem.
Specific integration points enable the ability to:
- Receive nGenius Performance Manager alarms and nGenius K2 alerts and probe-based alarms in the HP Software. Alarms include detailed information such as alert type, severity, time, source node, etc.
- Investigate the cause of an alarm by launching contextual views into nGenius Performance Manager or nGenius K2
- Display nGenius devices on the NNM L2 and L3 network maps with a NetScout icon
- Launch the nGenius Alarm View, a view into the specific incident, which displays relevant network details from two hours prior to and two hours after the triggering event
- Launch NNM Layer 2 and Layer 3 Neighbors views and NNM Path view for nGenius Performance Manager incidents in the NNM Incident Window
- Launch nGenius Performance Manager QuickViews from within the NNM Interface View to help evaluate link layer utilization and identify the hosts, conversations, and applications contributing to it.
- Display network and application performance events on the same screens within HP BAC for quicker, simpler problem diagnosis
